The lawyers and other professionals of our growing Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department offer comprehensive legal services in every aspect of intellectual property law. Among these services, our Department is renowned for its trial and appellate experience. Our litigators pride themselves on providing aggressive and thorough representation in a cost-effective manner.
In addition to the aggressive enforcement and defense of intellectual property rights, our practice includes client counseling, procurement and licensing in the patent, trademark, trade dress, copyright, trade secret, unfair competition, transactions and asset management, advertising, entertainment and computer law areas. On a daily basis we aid the Firm’s clients in identifying their intellectual property rights, evaluating the worth of these rights, aiding them in obtaining all possible forms of protection for those rights, such as patents and trademark registrations globally, and evaluating new products, technologies and assertions of infringement. Many clients also rely on our experience in licensing and leveraging these valuable property rights. Our lawyers actively practice in Federal District Courts throughout the United States, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, International Trade Commission and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, as well as before numerous courts in the UK, Germany and Italy. Lawyers in the Department have developed and actively maintain a worldwide network of foreign associates specializing in intellectual property law, and, as a result, are able to protect clients’ rights in counterpart tribunals and agencies around the world.
Our state-of-the-art proficiency in emerging and established technologies corresponds to our in-depth knowledge of the legal issues related to the protection of our clients’ innovations and goodwill. Many of our lawyers frequently serve as faculty at professional legal meetings and author articles for professional journals on matters related to all aspects of intellectual property, media and technology. Members of the Department are adjunct professors of intellectual property law at the nation’s leading law schools and others regularly testify as experts in intellectual property law disputes.
