Washington, D.C. Attorney Appointed to the American Health Lawyers Association Board of Directors

WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 12, 2008) — The international law firm of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Washington, D.C. partner Eric Zimmerman has been elected to the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA).

AHLA is the nation's largest, nonpartisan, 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to legal issues in the healthcare field with more than 10,000 members.  Health Lawyers provides resources to address the issues facing its active members who represent the entire spectrum of the health industry: physicians, hospitals and health systems, health maintenance organizations, health insurers, life sciences, managed care companies, nursing facilities, home care providers, and consumers.  Health Lawyers is governed by a Board of 27 members.

Mr. Zimmerman is a leader in the government strategies practice of the Firm's Health Law Department.  He is a recognized Medicare law and policy authority who helps clients navigate federal legislative and regulatory processes, improve reimbursement and maintain compliance.  Mr. Zimmerman counsels and represents hospitals and health systems, physician organizations, ambulatory surgery centers, device and equipment manufacturers and suppliers and medical trade associations and professional societies.
