Brussels Office Successfully Represents Malaysian Exporter of Plastic Bags Before the European Commission
BRUSSELS (29 September 2006) — McDermott Will & Emery/Stanbrook LLP has successfully represented a Malaysian exporter in an anti-dumping proceeding against imports of plastic bags from Malaysia, Thailand and China. Our international trade lawyers represented Europackaging Ltd and Euro Plastics Malaysia before the European Commission.
Based in the United Kingdom, Europackaging is a leading international manufacturer and distributor of packaging products in the EU. Its production facility, Euro Plastics Malaysia, accounts for the greater majority of all imports of plastic bags from Malaysia.
The anti-dumping investigation included an on-site verification in Malaysia and the United Kingdom, and subsequent reasoned submissions to the Commission. As a result, a zero dumping margin was obtained.
