John A. Lee Returns to McDermott Will & Emery
Joins Recent Hire Yar Chaikovsky in Firm’s Silicon Valley Office
SILICON VALLEY (January 28, 2010) — McDermott Will & Emery LLP is pleased to announce that John A. Lee has rejoined the Firm as a partner in the Silicon Valley office. He rejoins McDermott from Sonnenschein where he previously worked with partner Yar Chaikovsky, who joined McDermott’s Silicon Valley office in December 2009. Mr. Lee concentrates his practice on intellectual property litigation.

Mr. Lee was an associate at McDermott from September 2004 until January 2008. Prior to joining McDermott, Mr. Lee served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Faith Ireland of the Washington State Supreme Court.
Mr. Lee received his B.S. and B.A., cum laude, from Seattle University and his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Lee was a technical editor of the Santa Clara Law Review and authored an article titled, “Who Has the Ownership Interests in Inventions Resulting From Stem Cell Research and are Such Inventions Patentable?” He received 5th Place recognition in the West Regional of the 2003 Saul Lefkowitz Trademarks Moot Court.
Mr. Lee is admitted to practice in California and Washington State and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is a member of the Asian Bar Association of Washington and serves as chair of the Advisory Board to the Seattle University Chemistry Department.
