Silicon Valley Practice Reaches 30 Lawyers with Newest Partner
PALO ALTO, CA — The international law firm of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Edwin H. Wheeler, has joined the Firm’s Intellectual Property Department as partner, bringing the total number of lawyers practicing in the Firm’s Silicon Valley office to 30 lawyers. McDermott’s Silicon Valley practice has tripled in size over the past 18 months, following the recruitment of Terry McMahon in January 2001.

In nearly twenty years of practice, Mr. Wheeler has worked on both the east and west coasts, and has litigated cases in courts across the country. Mr. Wheeler has experience in all aspects of intellectual property disputes, including patent litigation in federal courts and before the ITC; trademark and trade dress litigation; trade secret protection; and standards-setting issues. Mr. Wheeler also has both counseling and litigation experience with a wide variety of antitrust matters in such areas as vertical restraints and distribution, price-fixing class actions, and the intersection of intellectual property rights and the antitrust laws.
Mr. Wheeler earned his B.A. magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University and received his J.D. from the University of Chicago. He is admitted to practice in California and the District of Columbia, and before various district and federal courts, including the federal courts of appeals for the Federal, District of Columbia, Eighth and Ninth Circuits.
