Chicago Office Welcomes Health Partner

CHICAGO (October 17, 2006) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Roger D. Strode has joined its Chicago office as a partner in the Health Law Department.  Mr. Strode's practice includes ambulatory surgery center transactions, hospital/physician transactions, specialty hospital development; and health private equity.

Mr. Strode's practice focuses on health care business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, corporate restructurings and joint ventures, general corporate matters and health care regulation.  His experience includes the representation of institutional health care providers (hospitals, health systems and integrated delivery systems), large physician groups, specialty providers and industry consultants.  Mr. Strode has served as lead counsel in numerous health care and corporate transactions including: the purchase and sale, or transfer of sponsorship, of hospitals, health systems, physician practices and health maintenance organizations, the formation of specialty hospitals, and the formation of ancillary services joint ventures.

Mr. Strode has been named in Best Lawyers of America (2007 edition) and for both 2004 and 2005 one of the nation’s outstanding health care transaction lawyers by Nightingale's.  Mr. Strode earned his J.D. cum laude from Marquette University Law School.  He is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin; American Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.  He lectures frequently and also has been a prolific author of articles on a variety of health law topics.
