Four Corporate Partners Join McDermott Will & Emery on the West Coast

LOS ANGELES (June 2, 2008) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that four new partners, Gary Rosenbaum, Jean LeBlanc, Adam Spiegel and Dick Okada,  have joined the Firm's Corporate Department on the West Coast.  All four partners will focus their practice on finance and restructuring work.  Mr. Rosenbaum, Mr. LeBlanc and Mr. Spiegel will be based in the Los Angeles office and Mr. Okada will be resident in the Silicon Valley office.

Mr. Rosenbaum concentrates his practice in commercial finance, private equity and mezzanine investments, workouts and restructurings, venture lending and leasing and other commercial transactions.  He advises various financial institutions in structuring, negotiating and documenting leveraged finance transactions in a broad range of industries.  Mr. Rosenbaum has substantial experience representing borrowers in secured loan transactions, creditors and debtors in chapter 11 cases and buyers and sellers of distressed companies.  He earned his J.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles and his B.A. from Northwestern University.

Mr. LeBlanc concentrates his practice in financing transactions of all kinds, including commercial loan transactions, restructurings and workouts.  He has been lead counsel for agents, lenders, venture capitalists and borrowers in connection with senior and subordinated loans and other financing transactions.  He has also been lead counsel on the behalf of purchasers and of sellers in connection with bankruptcy and non-bankruptcy asset sales.  Mr. LeBlanc earned his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of California at Los Angeles and his B.A., summa cum laude, from California State University, Northridge. 

Mr. Spiegel focuses his practice in commercial finance with an emphasis on structuring, negotiating and documenting secured and unsecured financing transactions, workouts and restructurings and debtor-in-possession financings.  Mr. Spiegel earned his J.D., with honors, from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.A. from the University of California at Los Angeles. 

Mr. Okada has represented major financial institutions acting as agents or lenders in connection with senior or subordinated secured credit facilities; equipment lessors; factoring companies; venture investors; and manufacturing companies and other trade creditors in the structuring and documentation of new transactions, the restructuring of existing transactions and the enforcement of their rights.  Mr. Okada also has experience dealing with the financing of major retail inventory liquidations, as well as the financing of factoring or asset-based lending businesses.  He earned his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from Yale University.
