McDermott's Washington, D.C. Office Welcomes Energy Partner
WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 19, 2008) — The Washington, D.C. office of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to welcome back Joseph B. Williams as the newest partner to its office. Mr. Williams will be a member of the Firm's Regulation & Government Affairs Department as well as the Energy and Derivatives Markets Practice Group, where he will focus on energy markets and trading and bankruptcy matters.

Mr. Williams re-joins McDermott after serving as senior counsel in-house with the New York Independent System Operator. In private practice, Mr. Williams focused on energy, bankruptcy and general litigation matters. He has experience representing clients in complex energy litigation matters, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) investigations, enforcement proceedings and contract litigation. Additionally, Mr. Williams has advised domestic and international clients on various Public Utility Holding Company Act issues.
Mr. Williams earned his J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and his B.S. from Utica College of Syracuse University. While in law school, he served as managing editor of the Syracuse Law Review. Mr. Williams is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia.
