Department of Treasury Advisor Joins Tax Practice

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 13, 2007) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the arrival of Robert H. Dilworth to its Washington, D.C. office.  He will be a partner in the Firm's Tax Department.  Most recently, Mr. Dilworth worked for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Office of Tax Policy, where he was a Senior Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Tax Policy.

Mr. Dilworth advises multinational clients on a variety of international tax planning matters with experience on international joint ventures and the financing of foreign operations of U.S. multinationals.  He has worked with clients in various industries, including retailers, petroleum and petrochemical; telecommunications, global dealers in derivative financial instruments, high technology manufacturing and multinational consulting groups.

Prior to joining the Treasury Department in September 2005, Mr. Dilworth was a principal in the PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Washington National Tax Services office and served as co-leader of the international tax services practice (1999-2005).  Prior to PricewaterhouseCoopers, he was an associate and then a partner at a leading U.S. law firm in its Chicago, San Francisco, Taipei and Washington, D.C. offices.

Mr. Dilworth is currently a member of the Financial Transactions Committee of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation and of the Section of Corporation, Banking and Business Law.  He graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College, where he was a member of Phil Beta Kappa, and from Harvard Law School, cum laude.  He is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia, Illinois and California.
