IP Litigator Joins Silicon Valley Office
PALO ALTO, CA — The Silicon Valley office of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to welcome Jimmy Shin as a partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property Department. Mr. Shin focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, with an emphasis on patent litigation.
Mr. Shin has a broad array of experience in high technology cases, including patent infringement litigation involving semiconductor devices, telecommunications equipment, optical comparators and hard-disk drive technology. Mr. Shin has counseled high technology clients concerning strategic IP issues, including procurement, enforcement, strategic acquisition and licensing of patent rights. He has represented clients on issues concerning patent validity and non-infringement studies. Mr. Shin also advises on IP matters that arise in M&A, corporate securities and secured transaction deals.
Mr. Shin earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, and his B.S. in electrical engineering from Cornell University. He is admitted to practice in California and before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
