McDermott Named Leader in Number of Patents Issued in 2004

CHICAGO (March 24, 2005) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that its global Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department ranked in the top 10 of Intellectual Property Today's annual survey of top patent firms, both boutique and general practice (March 2005 issue).  The survey, based on the number of patents issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in the previous calendar year, ranks McDermott first among general practice firms and seventh overall with a total of 1,633 patents issued in 2004.
