McDermott Partner Named Vice Chair of Chicago Kent College of Law's Federal Tax Institute and Federal Tax Institute Advisory Board
CHICAGO (June 10, 2008) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Firm partner Lydia Kelley has been named Vice Chair of Chicago Kent College of Law's Federal Tax Institute and Federal Tax Institute Advisory Board. Ms. Kelley succeeds Mr. Andre LeDuc of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. The Federal Tax Institute is an annual conference that attracts tax professionals across the Midwest.
Ms. Kelley is a member of McDermott's Tax Department and she is Chair of McDermott's Green Initiatives Committee. She focuses her practice on federal income tax matters, primarily in the transactional area. She advises multinational and domestic entities, including public and closely held businesses. Ms. Kelley has extensive experience in the supervision of sophisticated tax due diligence for acquisitions of stock and assets in a variety of industries, including energy, manufacturing and transportation. In addition, she has advised on various credit union matters. She is also the Chair of McDermott Will & Emery's Recruiting Committee.
Ms. Kelley has lectured on developments in federal income, estate and gift and employee benefits taxation at the annual Federal Tax Institute at Chicago-Kent College of Law. She is a member of the Illinois bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
