David Gay Named Among San Diego County's Top Attorneys in 2008

SAN DIEGO (July 18, 2008) — The international law firm of McDermott Will & Emery is very pleased to announce that David Gay, a partner in the San Diego’s Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department, has been named among the San Diego County Top Attorneys 2008 by The Daily Transcript.  The Top Attorneys 2008 were selected by peers as among the best in San Diego County’s legal community.

Having practiced in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical arena for nearly fifteen years, Dr. Gay brings a broad-based expertise to McDermott in all areas of life science intellectual property law.  Dr. Gay frequently counsels clients on sophisticated issues arising from the merger of different and complex technologies.  He advises established as well as emerging pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies as to the strategic design, acquisition and management of intellectual property portfolios, with particular attention to the integration of business objectives and competitive technologies.

Dr. Gay received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and earned his J.D. from the University of San Diego.  For the past two years, Dr. Gay has co-chaired the Special Committee on Biosciences and Chemical Practice for the ABA Section on Intellectual Property Law.
