International Trade Commission

McDermott Will & Emery has one of the leading section 337 practices in the United States. Most recently, the Firm was recognized by IP Law & Business as the most active "general practice firm" before the International Trade Commission (ITC). Chambers USA has also recognized McDermott as having a national leader in the field. As Chambers USA stated, clients praise McDermott’s International Trade Commission work as "an example of real expertise." Since 1982, Firm members have acted as counsel in over 50 section 337 investigations. These investigations have involved numerous technology areas and numerous causes of action, including patent, trademark and copyright infringement. Most of these section 337 investigations involved concurrent litigation in the federal district courts where members of the Firm served in similar capacities.
