McDermott Will & Emery's European Competition Group provides highly experienced representation to clients across a broad spectrum of competition issues. Our Group consists of lawyers practicing in the Firm's London, Munich and Washington, D.C. offices. In Europe, the group provides comprehensive advice regarding EU, UK and German competition laws, and assists merger clients with respect to transactions across all member states as well as Central and Eastern Europe.
We regularly provide European, U.S. and multinational clients with a broad range of competition services, including transaction counseling, notification and defense; representation in cartel investigations; counseling with regard to technology licensing, pricing and distribution matters; and advising and representing clients with respect to contentious matters, government investigation and agency complaints.

COUNSELING
From London and Munich, we deliver high level competition advice to multinationals who need sophisticated counseling on the ramifications of European and U.S. competition enforcement across all of the jurisdictions in which they operate. This includes advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, distribution issues and technology and intellectual property licensing. We provide clients with a full range of competition law representation in Brussels and throughout the EU.
MERGERS NOTIFICATION AND REVIEW
Our Group has extensive experience with multinational mergers and the notification process for such mergers. We analyze proposed multinational transactions and advise clients on the likely substantive treatment of mergers in various jurisdictions world-wide, organize and execute the notification process throughout the world for large multinational transactions, and defend transactions that receive additional scrutiny in various jurisdictions.
Our practice integrates lawyers experienced in various industries and practice areas, including those who act as general counsel and antitrust counsel to numerous trade and professional associations.
COMPLAINTS, OPPOSITIONS AND CONTENTIOUS PROCEEDINGS
Our Group has represented clients before competition authorities to oppose adverse transactions, restrictive agreements, or dominant behavior by competitors. We also represent clients in international arbitration and litigation proceedings involving complaints on defense under European competition law.
