Transactions & Asset Management
Our Transactions & Asset Management team analyzes existing corporate intellectual property assets and systems and develops a strategic plan to strengthen the protection and leveraging of these intangible assets to increase revenues and identify new market opportunities without devoting large capital expenditures. Our lawyers analyze and examine current distribution channels and market partners in order to determine whether they are the most effective for the client to generate the highest and best shareholder value and income streams/profits. We also consider the need to repair channels and relationships which are broken, ineffective or where greater controls over the channels would yield better results.
INTELLECTUAL ASSET MANAGEMENT
Our Transactions & Asset Management lawyers have developed a system that creates, organizes and prioritizes, based on client goals and objectives, a set of the company's intellectual property assets. Companies often do not have enough resources and systems in place to properly manage and leverage these assets; therefore our lawyers can monitor developments in the company's marketplace. This includes researching competitors, monitoring international activity, filing patent applications and maintaining license agreements for inbound and outbound relationships.
Our Transactions & Asset Management system manages a company's current intellectual asset management program, including what systems have been developed internally for allocations of new technology and innovations and what internal barriers must be removed to produce a stronger intellectual asset management practice. Our lawyers advise clients in ways to use intellectual property to protect their current assets and how to keep their businesses growing.
PORTFOLIO MANAGING & LEVERAGING
Our lawyers assess our clients' current intellectual property asset management program and strategically identify the opportunities that may exist for leveraging hidden assets as compared to their corporate strategy. We also organize and leverage portfolios of existing assets including, patents, trademarks, trade secrets, licensing, copyrights and software. By leveraging a client's assets it will potentially create value for customers, growth for investors, breaks into new markets or strengthen existing market channels. We carry out three key phases for portfolio development and leveraging.
1) conduct a strategic review of the clients portfolio and management practices
2) plan and develop leveraging strategies
3) work with the client on implementing the leveraging strategies plus follow-through with continuing legal advice
We have assisted hundred of emerging growth, established Fortune 1000 and international companies in connection with the protection and leveraging of their intellectual property portfolio assets.
