Overview
Jannika Glendon focuses her practice on commercial High Court litigation and international arbitration matters, and has experience in contractual disputes, as well as enforcement proceedings, particularly in the energy industry. She also has some experience in private client disputes, including acting for high-net-worth individuals in private trust disputes and contested estate disputes.
Results
- Representing a UAE-based IOC in two PCA-administered ad hoc arbitrations against a Middle-East NOC in relation to its total failure to supply pursuant to a long-term gas supply agreement, including:
- Successfully defending the US$2.4 billion award in challenges to the English High Court and Court of Appeal pursuant to ss.67, 68 and 69 Arbitration Act 1996, as well as obtained a favourable finding pursuant to s.423 of the Insolvency Act 1986.
- Acted in ongoing second arbitration with claims of up to US$30 billion.
- Advising a Balkan State and two government-owned entities in relation to two related LCIA arbitrations regarding a contract dispute in connection with an investment in the tourism sector.
- Advising a healthcare company in two parallel LCIA arbitrations for breach of warranty, including against the W&I Insurer.
- Representing healthcare companies in public procurement challenges against NHSE.
- Assisted on an arbitration claim against the State of Romania; an arbitration claim for breach of contract; assisting with the disclosure exercise and research on contractual interpretation; and in preparation of a case summary for the purpose of obtaining litigation funding for a tortious/breach of contract claim by our client against the Ivorian Coast Government.
- Acting for a high-net-worth family in a highly contentious estate dispute seeking proof of a will in solemn form. The case involves numerous defendants outside of the jurisdiction and is interlaced with the client’s foreign proceedings in Belgium and Russia, and until recently, the BVI. Also acting in another related dispute over the shares in the claimant’s BVI company, and which involves allegations of fraud and sham documents, and inconsistent foreign law documents.
- Acting in a contested estate matter for an individual seeking cross examination of the defendants (certain family members) in relation to a purported testamentary instrument.
- Advised on the Dawson Damer case; a large scale and high profile claims in the Bahamas, which involved a disclosure application pursuant to the Data Protection Act (UK and the Bahamas), as well as claims against the client’s former trustees.
