Overview
Travis Jackson works with leading hospitals, health systems and academic medical centers (AMCs) to bring their most complex and innovative mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures to market. Through his counsel, Travis’s healthcare clients – both for-profit and nonprofit entities – enhance their operational efficiencies, improve care delivery and strengthen relationships with physicians and the communities they serve in a compliance-driven and cost-effective manner.
Travis is experienced in developing, negotiating and implementing mergers, acquisitions and affiliations that streamline physician integration, increase brand recognition and expand care offerings. He has a deep understanding of federal healthcare reform, transaction trends, the federal 340B program, healthcare corporate governance matters and other legal issues that impact the business of healthcare.
His deep knowledge of federal tax issues and the unique challenges faced by tax-exempt organizations make Travis a valuable partner to non-profit healthcare providers as they navigate the complex state and federal requirements that govern their businesses. He works alongside these clients to structure relationships that comply with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rules, develop financial assistance, billing and collection, and other policies, and respond to audits and investigations from the IRS and state tax authorities while effectively managing enforcement risk.
