Overview
Benjamin focuses his practice on commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, financings, leasing, development and joint ventures. He has represented private equity sponsors, real estate investment trusts, developers, capital providers and other institutional and non-institutional investors in numerous sophisticated transactions across asset classes, including hotels, mixed-use projects, office and medical office buildings, multifamily residential complexes, manufactured housing, marinas, warehouse and industrial properties.
Benjamin also has experience advising on the real estate aspects of corporate financings, restructurings, mergers, acquisitions and related transactions.

- Represented private equity firm in a series of portfolio and single-asset dispositions of more than 30 select service hotels*
- Represented private equity firm in $203 million sale-leaseback with hospital system for 24 medical office buildings and other healthcare facilities located in Pennsylvania*
- Represented real estate investment trust in $70 million acquisition of an apartment community located in Georgia, including OP unit structuring*
- Represented developer in $200 million joint venture for development and recapitalization of four student housing and mixed-use properties*
- Represented private hotel company in connection with $730 million CMBS first mortgage and mezzanine financing secured by 30 hotels located throughout the US*
- Represented private equity firm in connection with its roll-up sale of a $3.2 billion portfolio of 280 US select service hotels to a newly-formed investment fund comprised of sovereign wealth funds and other investors*
- Represented public real estate investment trust in a series of portfolio and single-asset acquisitions and dispositions of more than 80 warehouse, industrial and office properties with aggregate transaction value exceeding $2 billion*
