International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce it has been awarded Accenture’s 2022 Outside Counsel Diversity Award. This annual award celebrates law firms that are making tangible progress in inclusion, diversity and equity – a commitment that is a key aspect of how Accenture chooses its legal partners.
Accenture recognized McDermott’s significant efforts to promote diverse lawyers into partnership and leadership roles, as well as highlighted the formation of its McDermott Rise program. Through this market leading program focused on combating inequality and promoting fairness for Black and all entrepreneurs of color, McDermott provides legal and business services to early-stage and emerging companies that have innovative go to market strategies and are solving important problems in their communities, thereby helping them launch and scale their businesses.
“We are incredibly honored to receive this wonderful recognition of our equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives, particularly from such an important client and business partner as Accenture,” said Christina Martini, who serves as the Firm’s relationship partner for Accenture, is a member of the Firm’s Diversity Committee and is McDermott’s Global Head of the Trademark Prosecution and Controversy practice.
As part of this award program, Accenture’s legal team analyzed the 2021 diversity initiatives of more than 70 small, medium and large law firms, measuring their progress in diversity (both firm-wide and specifically on Accenture matters); inclusion, diversity and equity activities; and advancing diversity commitments across the legal industry.
