Overview
International law firm McDermott Will & Emery represented Mercy Health (Mercy), one of the largest health systems and Accountable Care Organizations in the United States, in drafting and negotiating a 10-year agreement with Mayo Clinic (Mayo), a nonprofit organization committed to innovation in research and clinical practice. This partnership will establish a first-of-its-kind digital health technology innovation collaboration between two health systems that will bring technology and data science to the bedside to accelerate the transformation to the next generation of proactive and predictive medicine.
This collaboration will provide the opportunity to develop high-value solutions and algorithms leading to more optimal patient care as it combines Mayo’s expertise in highly complex care and extensive investment in data science platforms, Mercy’s two centuries of innovative care delivery in diverse communities, and more than 500 million deidentified clinical encounters from Mercy’s and Mayo’s demographically and geographically diverse patient populations.
The McDermott team was led by Bernadette Broccolo and Sam Siegfried with support from Mary Waller.
