International law firm McDermott Will & Emery represented Synergo Capital SGR in its equity investment in an EUR 8 million bridge to B round in Codemotion, a multichannel platform that improves the developers’ professional growth by connecting IT professionals, tech communities and companies.
Launched in 2013, Codemotion is a scale-up operating in Italy, Spain and Northern Europe with more than 50 employees in Italy and Spain, a network of more than 250,000 professionals, 200 tech communities and more than 300 companies and start-ups.
Synergo Capital, through its fund “Sinergia Venture”, was the lead investor of the round, backed by a selection of Italian and international VC funds, including Azimut Libera Imprese, through its fund “Azimut Digitech”, Endeavor Catalyst, Primo Ventures, through its funds “Barcamper Ventures” and “Barcamper Ventures Lazio”, and P101, through its funds “Programma 102” and “Fondo Multicomparto Italia 500 – Comparto Start Up & PMI Innovative”.
McDermott Will & Emery Studio Legale Associato assisted Synergo Capital in all legal aspects of the transaction, with partner Enrico Raso and associates Stefano Pardini and Elena Calzari, supported by trainees Francesco Carrà and Matteo Landini, of the Italian team headed by Ettore Scandale, partner in charge of the Italian corporate department.
