Overview
Leading health law firm McDermott Will & Emery is hosting its annual Physician Practice Management (PPM) and ASC Symposium on April 11-12, 2023, at the Grand Hyatt in Nashville. The event’s program will address the critical business, transactional and regulatory issues impacting growth, profitability and competition for PPMs and ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs).
“At McDermott, we pride ourselves on being an industry convener, bringing healthcare leaders and business professionals together to build relationships,” said McDermott’s Global Head of Healthcare Jerry Sokol. “PPM-ASC is one of our largest and longest-running programs and we can’t wait to host everyone in Nashville.”
“This is a must-attend event for industry executives to have candid conversations centered on succeeding in today’s dealmaking environment,” said Dana Dombey, healthcare partner and program co-chair. “We are excited to bring together physician founders, strategy and development executives, investors and bankers alongside our best-in-class healthcare transactional, regulatory and litigation lawyers.”
Day one of the conference will feature curated programming with tracks for in-house counsel (includes continuing legal education (CLE) credit), business development professionals and physicians contemplating selling an independent practice.
Day two hosts a variety of sessions led by senior PPM and ASC executives and chief development officers, private equity professionals and top bankers that explore market trends and key issues, including:
- An analysis on how to successfully operate a PPM in today’s world, including capitalizing on opportunities and overcoming obstacles.
- A closer look at current ASC industry trends and how to navigate the growing competition within the space.
- Discussions on acquisition and growth strategies, the challenges industry participants are facing and which tools to deploy to get deals done in today’s evolving marketplace.
- An exploration into how a Republican-led US Congress will affect relevant payment and policies for physician and ASC services.
- Specialty spotlight sessions on cardiology, orthopedics/physical therapy, women’s health and fertility, urology, gastroenterology and behavioral health.
