Overview
McDermott Will & Emery represented Westlawn Group LLC (Westlawn), a private investment firm based in Houston, TX focused on long-term investment in the global oil and gas industry, in the acquisition by Westlawn affiliate Ellipsis US Onshore Holdings LLC, of non-operated oil and gas properties in the Delaware Basin of Texas and New Mexico. The assets acquired by Ellipsis consist of 3,000 net acres, current production of more than 3,000 boe/d (2-stream) with significant operational upside associated with approximately 900 gross remaining locations.
Ellipsis was formed by Westlawn to pursue the acquisition and development of large, producing oil and natural gas assets in the United States.
Westlawn is focused on investing in the United States, Gulf of Mexico, Canada, Latin America, the Middle East and the Caribbean and is focused on acquiring technologies that enhance production, operated and non-operated interests in producing and development and exploration assets.
The McDermott deal team was led by Kevin Brophy, Ming Lei and Jack Langlois and included Sarah Nabors, Alex Farr and Jacob Hollinger.
