Samuel (Sam) F. Hamer focuses his practice on US and international tax matters.
Before joining McDermott, Sam served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Albert G. Lauber of the US Tax Court. During law school he served as a law clerk in the US Department of Justice, Tax Division where he worked on matters in the US Supreme Court and Courts of Appeals. He also served as an editor of The Georgetown Law Journal. He has maintained a longstanding pro bono practice counseling individuals on personal income tax issues.
