Frankfurt, January 9, 2025 – McDermott Will & Emery has advised Main Capital Partners and its portfolio company Bizzdesign on the acquisition of the software business Alfabet from Software GmbH (formerly Software AG). Alfabet is a market leader in the fields of Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM). The transaction involved a complex carve-out of the Alfabet business in multiple jurisdictions.
Following the successful acquisition of MEGA International in fall 2024, Bizzdesign is taking the next growth step with the acquisition of Alfabet. The combined group, which will operate under the name Bizzdesign, has around 2,000 customers worldwide and generates sales of around €110 million with over 600 employees.
Bizzdesign was founded in Enschede, the Netherlands, in 2000, and offers a leading SaaS platform for enterprise architecture based on user-friendly tools, proven best practices, consulting services and training.
Main Capital Partners is a leading software investor in the DACH region, the Benelux countries, the Nordic countries and the United States, with approximately €6 billion in assets under management and an active portfolio of more than 50 software groups.
