With his robust experience in health system affiliations, joint venture transactions, cross-industry collaborations and the development of new healthcare delivery models, Dale C. Van Demark works at the forefront of strategic transactions and digital health matters in the health, life sciences and technology industries. As a sought-after legal, strategic and policy advisor, he’s well-informed on integrating information technology into healthcare and has worked with clients in the realms of delivery of care, life sciences research and development, and artificial intelligence. Dale C. Van Demark serves as a co-chair of McDermott Will & Emery’s Digital Health practice.
Dale advises international clients on entering the US healthcare market and also works closely with colleagues at McDermott’s European and Asian offices to offer strategic guidance to US-based clients looking to break into new markets. He also assists US health systems in addressing issues related to their international patient programs.
Recently, Dale served as lead transaction counsel for a top health system in a collaboration arrangement with a prominent life sciences firm that enabled sharing health data for research and development and to improve health system laboratory functions. He also recently led a team to assist a health system in the acquisition of a financially distressed municipal hospital. Dale also advised a leading health system in establishing telemedicine-based health programs in Asia and South America.
Together with a noted trade association, Dale assisted in the development of white papers and guiding principles for virtual care and related subjects. Additionally, he serves on the advisory council of the Children’s Health Fund.
