Intellectual Property (IP) Challenges during Uncertain Times

Overview

McDermott Will & Emery and Marcum LLP are committed to sharing the best information available concerning the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to our clients and colleagues during this time. The evolving ecosystem in the life sciences and biotechnology sector creates new challenges for companies throughout all stages of their intellectual property (IP) and product lifecycle—and with those new challenges come new opportunities.

Many life sciences companies are working faster than ever to discover new treatments and/or vaccines for COVID-19. This race to innovate has increased collaborations between competitors and may create interesting challenges and opportunities with respect to IP rights and obligations. This joint session will feature a panel of subject matter experts as they discuss managing IP issues in these uncertain times from a legal and industry perspective.

TOPICS INCLUDE:

  • Challenges/Opportunities in Collaboration
  • Challenges/Opportunities in Patent Enforcement and Defense
  • Impacts on Damages and Injunction

This Continuing Legal Education (CLE) training session counts for 1.0 credit hour in Connecticut and New York. Appropriate for newly admitted and experienced attorneys (transitional/non-transitional).
