Overview
McDermott will be hosting an in depth ICO and Blockchain Breakfast Forum at our London offices.
ICO’s have been seen as a successful way of raising money and accessing capital from alternative sources. Recent developments in the United States have made it increasingly difficult to market and launch ICOs. Our New York partners David Taub and Alexandra Scheibe will bring us up to speed with the latest developments and describe new ways to launch ICOs in the United States.
The many advantages of Blockchain include the immutability of data – however, this appears to be in current conflict with the latest European General Data Protection Regulation; affecting Blockchains and DApps both within and outside of Europe. Ashley Winton and Romain Perray will explain the new official guidance from the French data protection regulator (CNIL), explore this nigh impossible conundrum and present some novel solutions.
We will be joined by a panel of industry experts and welcome your contributions in this interactive Breakfast Forum.
- Developments in US law applicable to initial coin offerings and other token transactions
- How ICOs may be launched, sold and conducted in the midst of recent regulatory crack down in the United States
