Preparing for Changes to R&D Tax Credit Form 6765: A Discussion With the IRS

Overview

The revised Form 6765, Credit for Increasing Research Activities, is expected to bring significant changes to how the R&D tax credit is claimed and how research activities and expenses are reported. The proposed changes represent an ongoing effort by the IRS to enhance the consistency and quality of information provided by taxpayers claiming the research credit.

McDermott Will & Emery partner Edward L. Froelich, together with BDO and the IRS, hosted a webinar to discuss what taxpayers should be doing now to prepare and to be compliant with the proposed form changes. Panelists addressed frequently asked questions about the new Form changes and shared their first-hand perspectives. This session provided participants with the knowledge to evaluate how best to integrate compliance with these reporting requirements into their R&D Credit claim processes.
