Brussels - McDermott Will & Emery

Brussels

Overview

Operating at the heart of the European Union, our Brussels team supports McDermott’s global client base and provides sophisticated counsel in all aspects of competition and international trade law. We are multi-legal and multilingual; our lawyers are of many different nationalities and speak the languages of our clients. We are admitted to work across Europe and the United States, and collaborate with lawyers throughout the Firm.

We advise clients across several areas of law, including corporate transactions, merger control notification, state aid, public procurement, cartel investigations, technology licensing, and pricing and distribution arrangements. Our dispute resolution team represents clients in EU and Member State litigation, arbitration and mediation, risk arbitrage, sector inquiries and agency complaints.

Our Brussels team and individual lawyers are recognized consistently for our high-quality counsel by publications such as Global Competition Review, The Legal 500 and Chambers Global. As part of a global, full-service law firm, the lawyers of our Brussels office are prepared to help clients wherever their business interests take them.

Hendrik Viaene is the managing partner of the Firm’s Brussels office.
