NEW YORK CITY (AUGUST 2, 2023) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery welcomes Elai Katz to its Regulatory Practice Group as a partner in New York City. Elai is a highly sought-after advisor to Fortune 100 companies navigating significant antitrust hurdles.

Elai brings more than two decades of experience handling antitrust issues associated with mergers and acquisitions, government investigations and litigation. He represents buyers and sellers across a range of industries, including aviation, financial services, insurance, healthcare, media, online retail and telecommunications. On the transactions side, he guides clients through antitrust and foreign investment regulatory reviews in the United States and internationally.
Elai also represents clients in a variety of antitrust disputes, including complex class actions alleging price fixing and monopolization and matters involving distribution arrangements and price discrimination. He also regularly advises on joint ventures and trade associations as well as marketing, pricing and distribution strategies.

Elai currently serves on the International Policy and Comments Committee of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Law Section, and he was former chair of the New York State Bar Association’s Antitrust Law Section. An antitrust thought leader, he writes a column in The New York Law Journal.
