Frankfurt – McDermott Will & Emery advised independent investment company Finatem on the acquisition of a majority stake in Gesellschaft für Straßenunterhaltung (GfS) via its fund Finatem IV.
Finatem, a private equity firm headquartered in Frankfurt, Germany, invests in majority stakes primarily in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and concentrates on medium-sized companies that are mostly active in traditional industries and have a clear growth potential. It is Finatem’s fourth investment this year.
Ulm based Gesellschaft für Straßenunterhaltung (GfS) is a technical infrastructure service provider for federal highways, federal, state and district roads. Founded in 1996, the company is also active in the field of day-to-day securing of construction sites. GfS will continue to be managed by the current managing directors.
The McDermott team led by Frankfurt Corporate partner Dr. Michael Cziesla and Counsel Norman Wasse advised Finatem on all legal aspects of both the transaction and the management’s re-investment.
