Overview
Frankfurt, March 11, 2025 – McDermott Will & Emery advised the Austrian wind and solar developer ImWind on the development and financing of a large wind farm in Birstein/Hesse, Germany.
The project, consisting of 12 wind turbines, is being developed together with three other project partners. ImWind is responsible for three of the wind turbines. This marks ImWind’s first major wind farm project in Germany.
Founded in 1995, the ImWind Group is one of the largest producers of renewable energy in Austria and today produces clean electricity for over 350,000 households in Austria with over 140 wind power and photovoltaic plants.
McDermott advised ImWind comprehensively on the project financing of the wind farm, the tax and corporate law structure of the project, on energy law issues relating to the wind farm and its grid connection, on project-related contracts and in relation to the due diligence.
The McDermott team was led by partner Kian Tauser and comprised partners Christoph Coenen, Maximilian Uibeleisen, Florian Schiefer and Sebastian Bonk, counsel Holger Mlynek, Simon Groneberg and Marcus Fischer as well as associates Constanze Götz and Michael Spirk.
