McDermott Advises Main Capital Partners and German Software Provider Foconis on the Acquisition of Swiss MACD

London, April 25, 2025 – McDermott Will & Emery has advised Main Capital Partners and their portfolio company Foconis, a leading software partner for financial institutions in the DACH region, on the acquisition of Swiss MACD AG, a leading provider of trading connectivity. With locations in Switzerland, the UK and Germany, joining forces with MACD reinforces Foconis’ position in existing markets, while extending its footprint into Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Foconis supports financial institutions in critical operational areas such as payment transactions, data analysis, process efficiency, business intelligence and compliance management. Around 350 employees work at four sites in Germany.

MACD has been developing customized products and services for financial institutions for more than 25 years and is the market leader for trading connectivity in Switzerland. More than 60 banks and stock exchanges in Europe rely on MACD’s services in the areas of software development, project management, consulting, hosting and support.

Main Capital Partners is a leading software investor in the DACH region, the Benelux countries, the Nordic countries and the United States. Main Capital has approximately €6 billion in assets under management and maintains an active portfolio of more than 50 software groups.
