McDermott Will & Emery has advised all shareholders of Protection One GmbH on the sale of 100 percent of their shares to the Securitas Group as part of a bidding process. The closing of the acquisition is still subject to antitrust clearance and is expected in the third quarter of 2021.
Protection One GmbH was founded in 1997 and is a pioneer in the field of 24-hour remote surveillance with real-time response, including live perpetrator targeting. Headquartered in Meerbusch, the company operates twelve locations in Germany and has over 240 employees. The group of companies also includes Pro Control GmbH and ela Werder Sicherheitstechnik GmbH.
Securitas offers security solutions such as on-site guarding, electronic security, fire and safety services and corporate risk management. It employs 355,000 people in 48 markets and operates in North America, Europe, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Australia.
