Overview
Munich, May 25, 2021 – McDermott Will & Emery advised SURFTOWN Hallbergmoos GmbH on the development of the largest artificial surf park in Europe.
With SURFTOWN MUC, a 20,000 square meter artificial surf facility, unique in Europe, will be created in the north of Munch. The municipality of Hallbergmoos has approved the development plan for the project and construction work is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2021. The park is scheduled to open in 2023. Close to the surf park, project developer Rock Capital Group is planning an approx. 29,000-square-meter multifunctional hybrid building – the “Hybrid One” – comprising offices, restaurants and retail.
A McDermott team led by Ralf Weisser and Nadine Hartung advised SURFTOWN Hallbergmoos GmbH on the contracts for the design of the surf facility, the acquisition of the technology for the project, and a financing round. The team included Nina Siewert, Claus Färber and Robert Feind.
