NEW YORK (May 27, 2014) — International law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP has once again been recognized as a leading firm in 51 areas in the latest edition of Chambers USA. This includes practice rankings in 17 national and 33 state categories, two of which increased in the rankings this year: Texas Antitrust and White-Collar Crime & Government Investigations Illinois. The Firm received three national Tier 1 practice rankings and eight Tier 1 state practice rankings. In addition, the Firm’s Nationwide International Arbitration and Securities practices are newly distinguished in the ‘other noted firms’ category, which are firms that are active in this practice area but have not yet been ranked.
For the fifth consecutive year (2010-2014), McDermott’s Health Industry Advisory practice achieved a standalone, Tier 1 national ranking in the healthcare category, described by Chambers as being “Held in high esteem for advising a wide range of healthcare clients including hospitals, physician groups, nursing homes and integrated delivery systems…offering market-leading litigation capabilities, and housing an impressive bench of highly regarded practitioners.”
McDermott’s Private Client practice was honored for the eighth consecutive year with a national Tier 1 ranking in the Wealth Management category. Chambers described it as an “Exceptional wealth management practice with one of the largest and most enviable benches of lawyers across the country. Peers are full of admiration, while big-name clients regularly seek out its expertise in domestic and international trust and estate planning.” Additionally, the Firm’s Food & Beverages (Alcohol) practice was once again ranked Tier 1 nationally, a position it has held since this category was first established. Clients described McDermott’s service in this area as “the gold standard of substantive alcoholic beverage law,” adding that our lawyers “are responsive, understand client objectives, provide the appropriate level of advice on risk and take sincere interest in clients’ needs.”
Chambers awarded McDermott 152 lawyer rankings across multiple practice areas and four lawyers are recognized for the first time this year. In addition, 17 Firm lawyers went up a tier in the latest edition of the guide.
