McDermott Partner Michael Chu Named President of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association

International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is proud to announce that Michael Chu, a partner in the Firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) practice, will become the President of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA) at the end of the 33rd Annual IPBA Meeting, taking place in Chicago on April 23-26. He currently is the chair of the host committee for the event.

Michael is an integral part of McDermott and for more than three decades has advised clients on all aspects of patent law, including complex litigation, opinions, and prosecution. Michael serves as the IP Litigation Practice Group Leader in the Chicago office and has extensive experience working with clients on litigation, licensing, regulation, and import/export issues in Asia, including China, Japan, Korea, and the Philippines.

“I’m deeply honored to serve as the President of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association,” said Michael Chu. “I look forward to working with my esteemed colleagues to further the IPBA’s mission and continue to grow this influential organization.”

IPBA is the preeminent legal association of business and commercial lawyers who live in or have a strong interest in the Asia-Pacific region. It currently has more than 1,500 members from more than 65 jurisdictions worldwide.
