NEW YORK – McDermott Will & Emery ranked among the top law firms for handling both the highest volume of real estate purchase transactions and the highest volume of real estate financings in New York City, according to The Real Deal. Based on $879 million in real estate transactions and $1.4 billion in loans during the period July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018, McDermott was one of only three law firms to place in the top ten in both categories.
“While this was our second consecutive year in the top ten based on our transactional practice, it is especially rewarding to see the success of our expanded and enhanced real estate finance practice,” said Keith Pattiz, head of the firm’s Real Estate Group. “This year we brought on a sizable number of talented real estate finance lawyers, and the benefit to the firm and our clients has been immediate.”
In 2018 McDermott welcomed real estate finance partners Jeffrey Steiner, Scott Weinberg, Dino Fazlibegu, Robert Unger, David Broderick and Brian Donnelly in New York and Laurence Rogers, Tom Calnan, Neville Wright and Rachel Kelly in London . These additions, along with other recent hires, bring McDermott’s real estate team to more than 80 lawyers globally and cement its position as one of the industry’s strongest.
