International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Chicago-based Partner Ahsan Shaikh has been named Practitioner of the Year for Patent Prosecution as part of the Managing IP Americas Awards 2023.
As head of McDermott’s Patent Prosecution practice, Ahsan’s practice focuses on strategic patent portfolio management and client counseling for computer-related technology companies. Ahsan is nationally and internationally recognized for both his strategic legal counsel and his client service.
Other notable highlights include:
- McDermott was a Firm of the Year finalist for Trademark Prosecution Midwest; Patent Disputes Northeast; and Life Sciences IP Litigation;
- Sarah Chapin Columbia was shortlisted for Litigator of the Year in Massachusetts; and
- A. Shane Nichols was recognized as a finalist for Litigator of the Year in Georgia.
The Managing IP Awards program covers several IP practice areas across more than 50 jurisdictions. The research for the program consists of information obtained from firms, IP practitioners, and clients through interviews and online surveys.
