International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce partner Jeffrey Stone has been elected as a new member of The American Law Institute (ALI).
Jeffrey has served as chairman of the Firm, global head of McDermott’s Trial Group and head of the White-Collar & Securities Defense Group. He has tried more than 40 federal and state jury trials to verdict, in addition to having tried dozens of bench trials, arbitrations and contested regulatory hearings.
ALI is the leading independent US organization producing scholarly work to clarify, modernize and improve the law. The election of an individual to ALI begins with a confidential nomination by an ALI member that is supported by two additional ALI members. Members propose individuals who demonstrate excellence in the law, are of high character, and will contribute to the work of the Institute and commit to its mission.
A Fellow and Regent of the American College of Trial Lawyers, Jeffrey concentrates his practice on white-collar criminal defense, complex commercial litigation, internal investigations and counseling to boards of directors and senior business executives. In his more than 40 years as a trial lawyer, he has represented corporations, boards of directors, board committees, executives and other individuals in a variety of complex civil litigation and criminal prosecutions involving a broad range of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, tobacco, high technology and financial services.
Jeffrey is consistently named one of the top 10 Lawyers in Chicago and now adds ALI member to his long list of accomplishments.
