January 17, 2025 – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is proud to announce that Elai Katz has been honored with the New York State Bar Association’s (NYSBA) William T. Lifland Award.
Elai is a distinguished antitrust lawyer with more than two decades of experience in mergers and acquisitions, litigation, counseling, and government investigations. He represents clients across a diverse range of industries, including financial services, insurance, healthcare, life sciences, online retail, beverage, airline, and media and telecommunications.
Highly respected in the antitrust community, Elai is a former chair of the Executive Committee of the NYSBA’s Antitrust Law Section. He regularly participates as a panelist and moderator at both the NYSBA’s annual meeting and the American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section Spring Meeting, where he addresses critical topics such as merger enforcement, information exchange, and financial market manipulation. Additionally, Elai contributes an antitrust column in the New York Law Journal, edited The Antitrust Compliance Handbook, and has written chapters in Antitrust Law Developments and New York Antitrust and Consumer Protection Law.
The William T. Lifland Award recognizes individuals who have distinguished themselves as leading antitrust practitioners and have served the broader antitrust community in a leadership role throughout their careers.
