International law firm McDermott Will & Emery welcomes Alex Jupp as a partner in its London office, where Alex will join as UK head of Tax. Alex brings extensive experience in all aspects of UK and cross-border tax matters impacting mergers and acquisitions, structuring for joint ventures, planning and audit interactions, enhancing McDermott’s capabilities. This strategic move underscores the Firm’s dedication to fostering growth in the United Kingdom, with 11 lateral hires in the past year alone.

A seasoned tax lawyer, Alex covers a broad range of UK and cross-border tax matters. He has represented a wide variety of clients in both transactional and contentious matters. His experience includes acquisitions and integrations within large multinational groups, public takeover offers, restructurings, capital raisings for investment banking and asset management groups, and the design and implementation of asset management structures and joint ventures. He also advises on tax governance, equity plans, real estate investment, and all aspects of dispute management and resolution with tax authorities, including proceedings involving advance pricing agreements and mutual agreement procedures.
