Overview
Allison Scher Bernbach draws on her over 25 years of experience to strategically counsel private fund advisers on regulatory and compliance issues, including in connection with the Investment Advisers Act of 1940. She regularly advises clients on US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) registration, structuring and ongoing maintenance of compliance programs, and SEC examinations, and provides advice regarding private fund formation and the structuring of acquisitions of other investment managers.
Allison’s extensive regulatory compliance experience includes servicing global, multi-strategy asset management firms and private equity sponsors as outside counsel and in-house. As in-house counsel, Allison served as a managing director and chief compliance officer of a large private equity investment firm. She has also held positions as associate general counsel and compliance officer, corporate counsel, and vice president and counsel for a variety of capital management companies.
Allison is head of the Firm’s US private equity fund regulatory practice.
