Overview


Annabelle Rau’s practice focuses on corporate law, capital markets law, banking and financial services law and financial regulatory law. Her regulatory practice ranges from traditional financial services regulation to new fintech business models, including crypto regulation. Annabelle also advises on all aspects of corporate law and related capital markets issues. Her focus is on corporate law, including the preparation and conduct of general meetings, the implementation of structural measures, and corporate governance and compliance issues.

Prior to joining McDermott, Annabelle Rau worked at two international law firms in the area of corporate law in Germany and New York and conducted research as a visiting scholar at Columbia University for her comparative law study on German and U.S. securities regulation.

Annabelle Rau regularly publishes on corporate and financial regulatory topics. She is co-author of the first commentary on the regulation of crypto-assets (MiCAR), in which she analyses the obligations of crypto-asset service providers.
