Overview
Yelena Bekker focuses her practice on cryptocurrency and blockchain matters, including obtaining money transmitter and other state licensure. Yelena also advises cryptocurrency and blockchain companies on emerging regulatory and compliance issues.
Additionally, she has experience conducting compliance evaluations and audits, working with financial experts in assessing future liability, and negotiating and implementing large-sum settlements.
Prior to joining McDermott, she served as general counsel for an international import and export company where she regularly defended audits and handled compliance disputes with government regulators.
