Overview
Andrea T. Best advises clients on insurance regulatory compliance throughout the United States. She works with insurers, reinsurers, intermediaries, brokers, trade associations and others in the insurance market.
Andrea actively monitors state insurance-related legislative and regulatory developments and works extensively with London, Bermuda and European insurance market participants regarding non-admitted insurance and reinsurance transactions in the United States, including regulatory advice on structuring insurtech, and on sharing economy and gig economy insurance programs in the United States. Andrea counsels managing general agents and other entities looking to establish operations in the United States. Andrea also assists insurance industry participants on structuring cross-border insurance and reinsurance transactions.
Andrea previously served as head of the London office for a global law firm.

- Advising on US group/master policy/trust arrangements
- Counseling on regulatory issues arising in US claims and coverage disputes
- Assisting insurers with group-wide sanctions and financial crime compliance
- Advising on state and federal laws applicable to extended warranties and service contracts
- Providing guidance on requirements for producer and claims adjuster licensing laws by state
- Assisting reinsurers in obtaining approvals to do cross-border business internationally
