Overview
Dr. Benedikt von Schorlemer advises strategic and financial investors on national and cross-border M&A transactions and joint ventures with a focus on the renewables and infrastructure sector. He accompanies clients on all stages of an investment cycle, from the acquisition of the target or project development to the exit. Benedikt also advises on management participations. During his practice of more than 20 years he gained particular expertise in the infrastructure and renewables sector, including digital infrastructure assets such as fiber networks.
Benedikt also has a strong background in the chemical sector, where he advised on a number of projects.
Benedikt studied at the universities of Freiburg, Geneva and Munich where he passed his first state exam. He gained an LL.M. in corporate law at New York University and was admitted to the German bar in 1997. He is co-author of a standard work on German limited liabilities companies and publishes regularly.

- Aream Group on the formation of a joint venture with Eiffel Investment Group represented by the Eiffel Transition Infrastructure Fund
- Versicherungskammer Group on its participation in energy provider MV Energie AG. Versicherungskammer indirectly acquires a 6.8 per cent stake in MVV Energie AG in cooperation with asset manager Igneo Infrastructure Partners*
- LQ lnvest GmbH, Calzo Limited on the sale of 75% of the issued shares in Renewable Oil Services to Muehlhan Wind Service A/S and conclusion of shareholder agreement*
- MEAG and Ärzteversorgung Westfalen-Lippe (ÄWVL) on the formation of the joint venture Open German Fiber for the build out of fibre-optic networks in Hesse and NRW (Germany) together with Primevest Capital Partners as additional partner*
- Octopus Energy Generation on the acquisition of Biebelnheim-Gabsheim wind farm on behalf of its Sky fund (ORl SCSp). The sellers of the joint project are the German renewables developers JUWI and wiwi consult*
- Global infrastructure fund manager DIF Capital Partners on the acquisition of a 51% majority stake in ib vogt GmbH on behalf of its Infrastructure VI fund. The seller of the Berlin-based solar PV developer is its current 100% shareholder DVV*
- John Laing on the acquisition of the fibre cable providers Jobst-NET GmbH (Jobst-NET) and EFN eifel-net Internet-Provider GmbH (EFN eifel-net)*
- Green Investment Group on the development, financing and sale of a biomass combined heat and power plant project*
- Funds advised by Equistone Partners Europe (Equistone) on the sale of their majority stake in Eschenbach Holding GmbH (Eschenbach) to Inspecs Group plc (Inspecs)*
- DIF Capital Partners on the acquisition of a stake in European railcar leasing company Touax Rail*
- Telxius on the acquisition of the tower sites from Telefonica for EUR 1,5 billion*
- Ingenieurversorgung Baden-Württemberg, the professional pension institution of the consulting engineers in the state of Baden Württemberg on its investment in a company in the renewable energy sector*
- DIF and Aberdeen Standard Investments on the acquisition of fuel storage provider UNITANK*
- Macquarie Capital on the acquisition of a 49.9% stake of the Baltic 2 offshore wind project from German utility EnBW*
