Dr. Thomas Hintzen advises clients on all aspects of public law, including constitutional, administrative, and regulatory law. He focuses his practice on construction law and environmental law, for example in the context of complex real estate transactions and project developments. Another strong focus of Thomas are foreign trade law issues, in particular FDI procedures as well as export control and sanctions.

Prior to joining McDermott, Thomas was a doctoral candidate at the Institute for Public Commercial Law at the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel. Thomas completed his legal clerkship at the Regional Court of Düsseldorf with stages at the German Embassy in Hanoi and a major international law firm in the area of public commercial law.
